Use your noodles! Middle School homeschoolers are invited to join our engineering challenge to earn a $300 scholarship for the 2022-2023 Walnut Grove Coop program year. You are not committing to sign up for any programs when participating in this event. You do not need to win the derby to earn a scholarship — all participants may be eligible. Review the Eligibility Requirements. Join us Tuesday, August 2nd from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm to participate. Parents can stay and bring siblings. There will be a nearby area for the spectators to play while the design phase takes place. All are welcome to cheer the participants on during the derby!
Participants will work alone or in teams to design a derby car. All supplies and rules for the challenge will be provided at the event. Middle School participants must design and create their derby car onsite during the event (parents may not assist participants). The project overview can be found in the link below but we may create our own project rules and constraints in addition to or instead of the ones given as an example.
