The second semester will lead students into dystopian worlds.&nbsp; Students will analyze how rhetoric is used to critique social structures, warn against danger, and oppress or control societies.&nbsp; Students will model these literary techniques by strengthening their narrative writing skills and applying them to argumentative essays.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h6 class=\"wp-block-heading\">American Literature<br>1 ELA Credit&nbsp;<\/h6>\n\n\n\n<p>This course will explore the topics, thoughts, writings, and people of American history and modern culture through many different genres of American Literature.&nbsp; Students will practice reading, analyzing, and writing about American literature.&nbsp; We will work with various texts including poetry, short stories, novels, and non-fiction pieces.
