Walnut Grove Coop has joined services with Junior Achievement of Delaware to offer Financial Literacy for high school students. This course can support a full credit in Consumer Science/Math.

The program equips high school students with foundational personal finance skills. These skills include

  • how to earn and save money
  • manage money by being a wise consumer and creating and using a budget
  • manage bank accounts, investments, and credit
  • assess risks and use insurance
  • address financial problems like identity theft and debt

Additionally, the group will learn about the benefits and challenges of investing in the stock market as part of a broader, long-term investment strategy and the risks and rewards of trading. The program includes an optional site-based JA Stock Market Challenge competition.
